The Milwaukee Bucks originally had until July 7 to decide whether to fully guarantee Andre Jackson Jr.’s $2.22 million salary for the 2025–26 NBA season.
However, new reporting on Monday revealed that the team and shooting guard reached a revised agreement.
Instead of making a full decision by that early deadline, the Bucks opted to give Jackson a partial guarantee now and postpone the full guarantee decision to a later date.
As part of the new arrangement, Jackson will receive $800,000 guaranteed no matter what – roughly a bit more than one-third of his full salary.
This gives the player some financial security, even if the team ultimately decides not to keep him for the full season.
The new deadline for his full salary to become guaranteed is now set for the day before the 2025–26 regular season begins.
That means if Jackson is still on the Bucks’ roster at that time, essentially making the team’s opening night squad, his entire $2.22 million salary will be locked in.
This updated agreement benefits both sides: Jackson gets some guaranteed money up front, and the Bucks gain additional time to evaluate him through training camp and preseason before committing to the full amount.
