Olympiacos has officially entered the race to sign Vasilije Micic, submitting a formal contract offer to the Serbian guard, according to Sportal.gr. The Greek powerhouse is prepared to offer a deal comparable to the one Sasha Vezenkov received when he returned from the NBA.
Micic, 31, became available for EuroLeague clubs this week after agreeing to a buyout with the Milwaukee Bucks. He surrendered $6.1 million to facilitate the move, allowing Milwaukee to stretch his and Damian Lillard’s cap hits under the NBA’s salary cap rules.
The veteran playmaker, who was traded to Milwaukee earlier this month, appeared in 41 games during the 2024–25 NBA season. He averaged 10.8 points and 6.2 assists in 30 games with Charlotte before brief stints with Phoenix and Milwaukee.
Olympiacos faces stiff competition for his signature, as Anadolu Efes, Crvena Zvezda, Fenerbahce, and Hapoel Tel Aviv have all expressed interest. Micic previously starred with Efes, earning Final Four MVP honors in 2021 while leading the Turkish club to consecutive EuroLeague championships.
His return to Europe would bolster any backcourt, as he brings proven scoring and playmaking at the highest levels. In his final EuroLeague campaign with Efes, Micic averaged 17.4 points and 5.4 assists while guiding the team to another title.
