Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram has been cleared for contact and is expected to take part in team scrimmages in the coming days, head coach Darko Rajakovic confirmed Thursday.

Josh Lewenberg of TSN reported that Ingram has already been training with the team and completing individual workouts as part of his recovery from an ankle injury that sidelined him last season.

“He’s pain-free, he’s moving well, he got stronger,” Rajakovic said. “He’s in a really, really great spot.”

Ingram, acquired by the Raptors at the February trade deadline in a deal that sent Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, and draft picks to New Orleans, has yet to make his Toronto debut.

Just days after the trade, the 27-year-old agreed to a three-year, $120 million contract extension but was shut down for the season on April 9 following a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to aid his recovery.

The 6-foot-8 forward appeared in 18 games with the Pelicans during the 2024–25 season before the trade, averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists while shooting 46.5% from the field and 37.4% from three-point range.

Ingram brings a career scoring average of 19.5 points per game and an All-Star appearance in 2020 to a Raptors roster that finished outside of the playoff picture last season.

His upcoming scrimmages will mark the final stage of his rehabilitation, putting him on track to participate fully in training camp later this summer.
