The New Orleans Pelicans have officially signed Micah Peavy, the No. 40 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, to a four-year, $8.7 million contract, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto.
The agreement includes two fully guaranteed seasons, a trigger date for the third year, and a team option for the fourth.
Peavy, 23, arrives in New Orleans after a stellar senior year at Georgetown, where he averaged 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He also shot an impressive 48.1% from the field and 40% from three-point range.
The All-Big East guard started his college career at Texas Tech before transferring to TCU and later Georgetown.
Across five collegiate seasons, he posted career averages of 9.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while improving his perimeter shooting each year.
In his final season, Peavy’s leadership and versatility stood out. He played 37 minutes per game for the Hoyas and became a reliable scorer and defender, which caught the attention of NBA scouts. His defensive instincts and ability to guard multiple positions have been highlighted as key assets for the Pelicans.
