The Toronto Raptors have officially signed free agent forward/center Sandro Mamukelashvili to a two-year contract worth $5.5 million, with a player option in the second year. The agreement was first reported by NBA insider Shams Charania.
Mamukelashvili, 26, spent the last two-plus seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, where he showed potential as a reliable frontcourt player.
Over 61 games in the current 2024-25 season, he averaged 6.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in about 11 minutes per game, shooting an efficient 50.2% from the field. His best performance came in San Antonio with a 34-point game, highlighting his ability to contribute offensively.
The Raptors, who finished 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 30-52 record, are looking to add depth and versatility to their frontcourt. This signing gives Mamukelashvili a larger role and an opportunity to establish himself in the NBA rotation.
Toronto’s roster has undergone changes during this rebuilding season. Adding Mamukelashvili aligns with the team’s strategy to develop young talent alongside recent draft picks, such as Collin Murray-Boyles, the 9th overall pick in the 2025 draft.
