The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to retain free agent center Jericho Sims on a two-year deal. The contract includes a player option for the second season, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
Sims, 26, joined the Bucks during the 2024-25 season after spending most of his career with the New York Knicks. Last season, he appeared in a career-high 53 games, including all five playoff games for Milwaukee. Known for his lob-catching ability and rim presence, Sims provides a valuable role as a backup big man.
During his partial season with the Bucks, Sims averaged 1.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game while shooting 68% from the field across 14 contests. His rebounding and shot-blocking helped strengthen Milwaukee’s frontcourt rotation.
Sims’ career numbers show consistent efficiency inside the paint, shooting over 70% from the field through four NBA seasons. His ability to finish around the rim and defend the paint fits well within Milwaukee’s system that emphasizes spacing and rim protection.
Milwaukee finished the 2024-25 regular season with a 48-34 record, securing the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round, highlighting the need for reliable role players like Sims to contribute in key moments.
