The Memphis Grizzlies are retaining guard Cam Spencer on a new two-year, $4.5 million fully guaranteed contract, according to Shams Charania.
The agreement secures Spencer’s place in Memphis after he spent his rookie season on a two-way deal with the team.
Spencer, 24, was originally drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 53rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft but was traded to the Grizzlies on draft night.
The Rutgers product appeared in 25 games during the 2024-25 regular season, averaging 4.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in just over 10 minutes per game.
Despite limited opportunities, Spencer shot 41.5% from the field and 36.5% from beyond the arc, displaying consistent floor spacing during his time on the court.
The Grizzlies’ decision to convert Spencer’s deal into a full contract adds further depth to their backcourt rotation heading into the 2025-26 campaign.
Memphis finished last season 48-34, earning the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference before being swept by the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs.
The $4.5 million deal is fully guaranteed, a rare level of financial commitment for a second-round pick just one year removed from a two-way contract.
