The Philadelphia 76ers have reached an agreement with free agent forward Trendon Watford on a two-year, $5.3 million contract, according to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Watford, 24, is coming off a productive season with the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged a career-high 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over 44 games while playing 20.8 minutes per contest.
The undrafted LSU product had been on a one-year, $2.7 million deal with Brooklyn before entering free agency.
He now joins a Sixers team that is coming off a 24-58 campaign, finishing 13th in the Eastern Conference and outside the playoff picture.
Watford adds positional versatility and scoring efficiency to a rotation that struggled with depth and consistency throughout the 2024-25 season.
Over his four-year NBA career, the 6-foot-8 forward has suited up for Portland and Brooklyn, compiling averages of 7.9 points and 3.6 rebounds on 52.0 percent shooting from the field.
Watford has improved his shooting touch each season, raising his three-point percentage to 39.7% in 2023-24 before a dip to 33.0% in 2024-25, when his role expanded in Brooklyn’s rotation.
