The Orlando Magic have officially extended a two-way qualifying offer to Mac McClung, according to a report by Keith Smith of Spotrac.
With the offer, McClung becomes a restricted free agent, giving Orlando the opportunity to match any offer sheet he may sign after free agency begins on July 1.
McClung, 26, appeared in just two games for the Magic during the 2024-25 regular season, averaging 5.0 minutes per contest without recording a field goal. However, his G League production with the Osceola Magic remained among the best in the league.
In 44 games with Osceola, McClung posted averages of 23.0 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 48.1% from the field. He was named the 2024-25 NBA G League MVP in April, marking the second straight year he led the Magic’s affiliate in scoring.
Off the court, McClung made NBA history in February by winning his third consecutive Slam Dunk Contest. He became the only player to win the event three times in a row, joining Nate Robinson as the only three-time champion overall.
McClung’s qualifying offer continues Orlando’s pattern of maintaining flexibility while retaining talent from within. He originally joined the organization in September 2023, spent much of last season with Osceola, and re-signed with the team on a two-way deal in September 2024.
Across his brief NBA career, McClung has played for the Bulls, Lakers, 76ers, and Magic, totaling just six NBA appearances. Despite limited playing time at the top level, his impact in the G League and during All-Star Weekend has kept him on the radar.
