Mac McClung became the all-time leading scorer in G-League history on Tuesday, surpassing Renaldo Major with 5,299 career points across the tip-off tournament, regular season, and playoffs. The Windy City Bulls guard added a career-high 59 points, 10 assists, and eight three-pointers in a 133-134 loss to the Birmingham Squadron.

McClung’s performance came in 42 minutes on 19-of-34 shooting, including 8-of-17 from deep and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. He also contributed five rebounds, demonstrating his all-around impact despite the narrow defeat.

Birmingham countered with Trey Alexander scoring 29 points, Hunter Dickinson 24, and Christian Shumate adding 27 in a close contest. The Squadron shot 48.0% from the field and secured 53 rebounds, narrowly edging out the Bulls.

This milestone comes during McClung’s fourth G League season, following stints with the Windy City Bulls, Delaware Blue Coats, and the Oklahoma City Blue. He currently averages 23.5 points, seven assists, and 3.3 rebounds over 32.9 minutes per game in the 2025-26 campaign.

McClung has also appeared in the NBA with multiple teams, including the Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers, and Chicago Bulls, compiling a combined 5.6 points per game over 23 career appearances. Despite limited NBA minutes, his dominance in the G League has continued to grow.

The record-breaking night highlights McClung’s scoring consistency and ability to perform under pressure. His 59-point effort adds to a season where he is shooting 51.7% from the field and nearly 40% from three-point range, proving his efficiency on both ends.
