Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond will return for another season after opting into his $5 million player option for 2025-26, according to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The decision ensures continuity for a franchise that finished 13th in the Eastern Conference with a 24–58 record and is attempting to rebuild through the draft and internal development.

Drummond, 31, played in 40 games this past season, including 23 starts, and averaged 7.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 18.8 minutes per game.

He shot 50 percent from the field and continued to contribute on the glass, collecting 2.7 offensive rebounds and 5.0 defensive boards per contest.

A two-time All-Star and four-time rebounding champion, Drummond has transitioned into a reserve role in recent years but remains one of the league’s most reliable rebounders per minute.

His return gives Philadelphia a veteran anchor behind younger frontcourt players, including 2025 No. 3 overall pick V.J. Edgecombe and second-rounder Johni Broome.

With the Sixers ranked 25th in team rebounding and 28th in second-chance points this season, keeping Drummond provides a low-cost solution to help address those weaknesses.

Drummond has played for seven teams in his 13-year career, including stints with the Pistons, Cavaliers, Lakers, Nets, and Bulls.
