Second-year forward Jaime Jaquez of the Miami Heat experienced the NBA Finals atmosphere firsthand on Sunday, not as a player on the court, but in a unique role as part of the league’s Player Correspondent Program.
In this capacity, Jaquez contributed to the NBA’s digital and social media content, offering fans behind-the-scenes insights. This opportunity came to light through Ira Winderman of The Sun-Sentinel.
Reflecting on the experience, the player expressed a clear desire to return to the Finals, but with a different role in mind.
“I’m thinking I want to be here, but not as a correspondent,” Jaquez remarked during a media event. “That’s what I’m thinking, as a player.”
His words show he wants to improve and play an important role on the court, hoping to compete at the highest level instead of just watching.
Jaquez has played 2 seasons for the Heat. He has averaged 10.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 141 regular-season games.
