A woman identified as Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles alleging that Zion Williamson raped and physically, emotionally, and financially abused her during a years-long relationship from 2018 to 2023.
The suit, obtained by TMZ and Front Office Sports, outlines multiple allegations including rape, assault, battery, stalking, and more – with incidents reportedly taking place in several states.
Doe claims Williamson strangled her, pointed a gun at her, and made repeated threats, including having his security guard shoot her and kill her parents. She alleges the Pelicans star was “either drunk or on cocaine” during many of the incidents.
Williamson’s attorneys issued a firm denial, stating via Front Office Sports:
“We take these allegations with the utmost seriousness, and we unequivocally deny them. The allegations contained in the complaint are categorically false and reckless.”
They also described the lawsuit as a financially motivated “extortion attempt,” noting it’s the plaintiff’s third set of attorneys and claiming the two had a “consensual, casual relationship” that ended years ago.
Williamson’s team says he reported Doe’s alleged extortion to law enforcement and plans to file counterclaims seeking significant damages.
“While these allegations are false, we recognize the seriousness of the claims and welcome the opportunity to prove the truth in court.”
Williamson, the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, has averaged 24.7 points across his career. He’s owed roughly $126.5 million over the next three seasons, though much of that salary isn’t fully guaranteed.
