Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody underwent surgery on his right thumb, the team confirmed in an official statement.
The procedure was performed in Los Angeles to repair a torn Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) in his shooting hand.
Moody, 22, is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2025–26 training camp.
The fourth-year Arkansas product appeared in 74 regular-season games for Golden State this year, starting 34. He averaged a career-best 9.8 points, along with 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 22.3 minutes per contest.
In the playoffs, the 6-foot-6 guard posted 7.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 16.1 minutes over 12 games.
Moody’s postseason included two starts as the Warriors advanced to the second round before being eliminated by the Timberwolves in five games.
Golden State’s season was marked by inconsistency and roster adjustments, including the midseason acquisition of Jimmy Butler and the departure of Klay Thompson.
The 48-win campaign secured the seventh seed in the West, and the team made it past both the play-in and a full seven-game first-round series against the Houston Rockets.
Injuries were a recurring issue for the Warriors, who also lost Stephen Curry during their series against Minnesota.
Moody’s injury did not occur during postseason play and did not keep him from completing the series against the Timberwolves.
He now faces a summer of recovery but is on track to rejoin a roster that could undergo additional changes in the offseason.
