The Golden State Warriors secured a 137-131 overtime victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night at American Airlines Center, but the win was overshadowed by a serious-looking knee injury to Moses Moody late in the extra period.

Moody scored 23 points and made several key defensive plays before collapsing with an apparent left knee injury with 58 seconds remaining in overtime.

The injury occurred moments after Moody stole the ball from Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg near midcourt and raced toward the basket on a breakaway.

As he attempted the finish, Moody’s left leg buckled and he fell to the floor while grabbing his knee, forcing a stoppage after Dallas briefly continued play on the other end.

Warriors players and medical staff surrounded the guard before he was eventually taken off the court on a stretcher. Golden State coach Steve Kerr said Moody was undergoing X-rays at the arena after the game.

The Warriors improved to 34-38 with the win, remaining in the Western Conference play-in race with 10 games left in the regular season.

Golden State ended a three-game losing streak and secured just its second victory in the last 10 games.

The Warriors placed eight players in double figures, highlighting balanced scoring throughout the roster.

Kristaps Porzingis scored 22 points and added seven rebounds and five assists, while Brandin Podziemski recorded 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

Gary Payton II delivered a perfect shooting night, scoring 17 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the field.

Gui Santos provided key production late, scoring 11 of his 16 points during the fourth quarter and overtime.

Golden State erased a 15-point deficit from the second quarter to force overtime, relying on defense and transition offense to stay within reach.

Dallas countered with strong individual performances despite the loss.

Cooper Flagg finished with 32 points and nine assists but also committed seven turnovers, including three during an 11-0 Warriors run early in the fourth quarter that shifted momentum.

Daniel Gafford added 20 points on 8-of-8 shooting, while Klay Thompson scored 15 and Max Christie contributed 15.

The Mavericks shot an efficient 59% from the field and 44% from three-point range, but turnovers and defensive lapses allowed Golden State to extend possessions.

Dallas fell to 23-49 and extended its home losing streak to 12 games, the franchise’s longest skid at home in 32 years.

The Mavericks also dropped their second consecutive overtime game and have gone 4-23 since a four-game winning streak earlier in the season.

Only one additional point was scored after Moody’s injury as both teams struggled to resume the game’s rhythm in the final minute of overtime.

Golden State will host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, while Dallas travels to face the Denver Nuggets.
