Eric Gordon has the option to secure guaranteed money for next season if he chooses to exercise his $3.4 million player option before the start of free agency.
However, his potential return to the Philadelphia 76ers may come with a limited role, depending on the team’s roster decisions and needs.
After a season marred by injuries and underperformance, Gordon’s future with the Sixers is uncertain. In what was a disappointing campaign, he posted career-low averages of just 6.8 points and 19.7 minutes per game.
Despite these struggles, the veteran guard did shoot an impressive 40.9 percent from beyond the arc, a bright spot in an otherwise difficult year.
He appeared in only 39 games before undergoing season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right wrist on February 26.
Reflecting on his injury-riddled season, Gordon expressed his frustration with the lack of playing time: “It was tough, because I wanted to play as many games as I can,” he admitted.
