NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has revealed that the league is exploring the possibility of introducing a new format for next year’s All-Star Game – one that would pit players from the United States against those from the rest of the world.

According to Silver, the NBA is currently in discussions with the players’ association to develop fresh concepts that move away from the traditional East vs. West or team captain formats.

The goal is to have NBA athletes represent their home countries or regions, highlighting the global diversity of the league and adding a new layer of competition and pride to the annual event.
