
Hawks star Trae Young announced on NBA Today that he’s joining the Oklahoma Sooners as assistant GM and donating $1 million to the program, per Lauren Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Young, who played one standout season at OU in 2017-18 before entering the NBA, expressed excitement about his new role, where he’ll assist with roster management, player branding, and recruiting.
The school confirmed his position and donation, highlighting his impact on program development.
Sooners head coach Porter Moser called it a “huge day,” praising Young’s contribution and influence. Young follows Stephen Curry, who recently took a similar role at Davidson.
