Losing games can be beneficial for the Washington Wizards as they look to improve their lottery odds, but Thursday night’s performance against Indiana offered little to gain, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic.

The Wizards set franchise records by allowing a staggering 162 points to the Pacers and suffering a 53-point loss. Indiana dominated Washington’s defense, shooting an impressive 64.1% from the field and 57.4% from beyond the arc.

Wizards head coach Brian Keefe expressed his frustration, stating, “You should be upset. You shouldn’t be happy. But it’s always about what you do going forward. Unfortunately, losses like this happen. You don’t want them to. No one’s happy about it, most of all our organization, me and the players especially. We’ve got competitive guys in our locker room. But it’s how you go forward. It’s always how you respond.”

Keefe emphasized that despite the crushing defeat, the key for the team is to maintain a forward-looking mindset and respond positively moving forward.
