New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau expressed optimism that Jalen Brunson will make his return to the lineup before the start of the playoffs as he recovers from a sprained ankle.
Speaking on Thursday, Thibodeau noted that Brunson has been making steady progress in his recovery.
“He’s doing light shooting and he’s out of the boot,” he said. “So there’s steady progress, and we’ll see where it goes from there.”
Brunson is scheduled for another medical evaluation on Friday to assess his condition further.
Reports over the weekend suggested that the star guard was unlikely to return before late March or early April.
Brunson initially sustained the ankle injury during a game on March 6.
