Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar bolstered its backcourt by signing shooting guard Matt Janning for the remainder of the season. Janning (1.93 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, for whom he averaged 10.1 points on 40.9% three-point shooting in 14 Eurocup games this season to help the club reach the Eurocup Last 32. He also posted 8.4 points in 16 Israeli League games to help the reigning Israeli champs to first place in the league standings. Janning has previous experience at the Euroleague level with Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Montepaschi Siena, for whom he played a total of 48 Euroleague games in the 2012-13 and 2014-15 seasons. He has also played for Cibona Zagreb in Croatia and Casale Monferrato in Italy in addition to stints in the NBA D-League with Maine and Rio Grande. Among his career highlights are winning the 2013 Italian League and Cup double with Siena and the 2015 Turkish Cup with Efes. Janning will be eligible to compete in the Euroleague for Lokomotiv starting in Top 16 Round 8 on February 25 against Cedevita Zagreb.
