New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins continues to deal with lingering back pain that previously sidelined him, but he has learned to manage the discomfort and has been performing at a higher level in recent games, reports Rod Walker of NOLA.com.

Despite the ongoing issue, Hawkins has been more productive, averaging 14.8 points per game while shooting an efficient 47.9% from the field and 36.7% from beyond the arc during the team’s recent four-game road stretch – both improvements over his season averages.

Head coach Willie Green praised the young guard’s progress, emphasizing his growing confidence and understanding of his role within the team.

“He’s playing more consistent where he has more consistent minutes,” Green said. “He understands what his role is when he steps on the floor. This is a part of his growth.”

Hawkins has played 2 seasons for the Pelicans. He has averaged 9.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 111 regular-season games.
