The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight with their two biggest stars, Luka Doncic and LeBron James, both appearing on the injury report.
Doncic is listed as questionable with a right knee contusion, while James is probable due to left foot injury management. Austin Reaves is also questionable with a right calf strain, adding to Los Angeles’ concerns.
The Lakers (38-21) enter the matchup on a six-game winning streak and have surged to second place in the Western Conference. They have won 18 of their last 22 games, solidifying themselves as one of the hottest teams in the league.
New Orleans (17-44) has struggled this season, sitting in 17th place in the West. The Pelicans are 5-5 in their last 10 games and continue to deal with injuries, including Herbert Jones (torn rotator cuff) and Dejounte Murray (Achilles rupture), who remain sidelined.
Los Angeles took the first meeting of the season against New Orleans, winning 104-99 back in November. The Pelicans will look to even the season series but face a tough challenge on the road.
Beyond Doncic and James, the Lakers will be without Rui Hachimura (left patellar tendinopathy) and Maxi Kleber (right foot surgery recovery). Jordan Goodwin is also out with a right ankle sprain.
New Orleans will be missing Keion Brooks Jr., Lester Quinones, and Antonio Reeves, all of whom are in the G League. Brandon Boston Jr. is questionable with a left ankle sprain.
With the Western Conference standings tightening, every game matters for the Lakers as they push for home-court advantage in the playoffs.
