The Memphis Grizzlies have officially re-signed forward Lamar Stevens to a second 10-day contract, extending his opportunity with the team throughout the season.
Stevens initially joined the Grizzlies on February 21 after being called up from the NBA G League’s Motor City Cruise, where he had been delivering strong performances.
In his first game for Memphis this season on March 1 against the San Antonio Spurs, Stevens contributed six points and four rebounds in 16 minutes of action.
Before his call-up, the 27-year-old forward had been a key player for the Motor City Cruise, starting all 29 games he played and posting impressive averages of 17.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game while logging 34.1 minutes per contest.
An undrafted prospect out of Penn State in 2020, Stevens has carved out a role in the NBA over the past five seasons.
He has appeared in 204 career games, including 41 starts while playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and now the Grizzlies.
Across his NBA tenure, he has averaged 5.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game.
With this second 10-day contract, Stevens will have another opportunity to showcase his skills and potentially earn a more permanent role with the Grizzlies.
