Stevens, 27, is in his sixth NBA season. He has spent the majority of this year with the Motor City Cruise in the G League, where he averaged 17.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 34 minutes per game. His performance in the G League caught the attention of the Grizzlies, who are looking to bolster their bench for a potential playoff run.
Last season, Stevens split his time between the Boston Celtics and Memphis. In 19 games with the Grizzlies, he made a noticeable impact, averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 23 minutes per game. These numbers significantly outpaced his time with Boston, where he averaged just 2.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 6.4 minutes in 19 games.
With the team currently sitting third in the Western Conference at 36-19, the Grizzlies are looking for ways to add depth and flexibility to their roster. The addition of Stevens could provide an energy boost, especially with the playoffs on the horizon.
