The Phoenix Suns struggled significantly in the second half of their home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, failing to maintain their competitiveness as the game progressed.

After the disappointing performance, veteran forward Kevin Durant was blunt in his assessment of the team’s effort.

“We didn’t play up to our standards at all,” Durant stated. “We embarrassed the fans and we embarrassed ourselves the way we played. I want us to be better.”

A major factor in the loss was Phoenix’s inability to take care of the ball, as the Timberwolves capitalized on 22 Suns turnovers, converting them into 40 points.

Durant acknowledged that when the team faces adversity, they struggle to respond effectively.

“When adversity hits, we start floating a little as a team,” Durant admitted. “That’s tough to deal with.”

The defeat pushes the Suns further down in the Western Conference standings, dropping their record to 28-33.

With this loss, they now sit four games behind the final Play-In Tournament spot, making their postseason hopes increasingly uncertain.
