According to Chris Haynes, Jimmy Butler’s representatives have conveyed to the Miami Heat that he wants the franchise to pursue the most advantageous trade possible.
Butler’s camp is prepared to discuss his long-term future with any team Miami authorizes for talks once negotiations are in advanced stages and nearing completion. Currently, no team has requested permission from Miami to hold such discussions.
Reports suggest that Butler’s preferred destination is the Phoenix Suns. On Sunday, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst revealed that Butler informed the Golden State Warriors he had no intention of committing to the team for an extended period.
Butler is currently serving a suspension by the Heat, which will last at least until the trade deadline. Additionally, he holds a $52 million player option for the 2025-26 season, giving him a certain level of influence over trade negotiations.
