The Oklahoma City Thunder delivered their most dominant performance of the season, dismantling the Washington Wizards 136-95 on Sunday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge, scoring 27 points despite shooting just 29.4% from the field, thanks to his impressive ability to draw fouls and convert 16 of 17 free-throw attempts.

The Thunder, now 32-6 and leading the Western Conference, showcased why they boast the NBA’s top-ranked defense. Oklahoma City held Washington to 33.7% shooting from the floor and a dismal 19.6% from beyond the arc.

Aaron Wiggins came off the bench to contribute 23 points and nine rebounds, while Jalen Williams added 17 points. Isaiah Hartenstein dominated the boards, tallying 12 rebounds alongside 10 points. The Thunder’s bench played a crucial role, combining for 57 points in the rout.

Washington, which holds the league’s worst record at 6-31, struggled offensively throughout the game. Corey Kispert led the Wizards with 17 points, but no other player managed to find a rhythm.

Gilgeous-Alexander’s consistency at the foul line allowed him to overcome his worst shooting night of the season. Despite his struggles, his defensive presence and leadership helped the Thunder secure their largest margin of victory this year. Oklahoma City also benefited from stellar ball movement, recording 26 assists on 45 made field goals.

The Thunder’s dominance extended to the glass, as they outrebounded the Wizards 56-39, including 15 offensive boards. Their efficient free-throw shooting—hitting 33 of 35 attempts—highlighted their ability to capitalize on Washington’s mistakes.

For the Wizards, turnovers and poor shot selection proved costly. Jordan Poole’s six turnovers and Kyle Kuzma’s 2-of-12 shooting night exemplified the team’s offensive woes.

Despite occasional flashes from players like Alex Sarr and Jonas Valanciunas, who contributed 10 and 11 points respectively, the Wizards lacked the cohesion needed to challenge Oklahoma City.
