The Atlanta Hawks secured a 120-110 victory over the Miami Heat on Saturday, led by standout performances from Jalen Johnson and De’Andre Hunter. The win marked Atlanta’s third consecutive triumph, improving their record to 17-15 and capping off a successful four-game homestand.

Jalen Johnson delivered a near-career-high performance with 28 points and 13 rebounds, just two points shy of his best single-game total. De’Andre Hunter, coming off the bench, contributed 26 points, extending his streak to 15 consecutive games with at least 15 points.

Trae Young added his 22nd double-double of the season with 11 points and 15 assists, falling one assist short of tying a franchise record for assists against Miami. Garrison Mathews also provided a spark off the bench, scoring 18 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.

Tyler Herro led the Heat with 28 points and 10 assists, while Bam Adebayo recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Despite Herro’s efforts, Miami’s offensive struggles were evident, as they shot just 44.4% from the field and 31.7% from three-point range.

Atlanta, on the other hand, displayed efficiency on both ends of the floor, shooting 51.2% from the field and converting 40.5% of their three-point attempts. Their ability to maintain composure and execute key plays down the stretch ensured the victory.

The Hawks’ bench was pivotal, contributing 59 points, including Hunter’s 26 and Mathews’ 18. Larry Nance Jr. added 10 points and 10 rebounds, providing a strong defensive presence in the paint.

For Miami, five players scored in double figures, but the absence of Jimmy Butler, who missed his fourth straight game due to “return to competition reconditioning,” was a glaring void. Duncan Robinson added 16 points, while Haywood Highsmith chipped in with 14.

The Heat made a late push in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to six points, but the Hawks responded with clutch baskets, including a key three-pointer from Young to regain control. Miami’s inability to capitalize on their opportunities at crucial moments proved costly.

Atlanta also won the battle on the boards, out-rebounding Miami 47-42. Their dominance in second-chance opportunities played a significant role in the outcome, as Johnson and Nance combined for six offensive rebounds.

The Hawks now look to build on their momentum as they prepare for a three-game road trip, starting with a matchup against the Indiana Pacers. Meanwhile, the Heat, now 15-14 on the season, will aim to regroup and adjust with Butler’s return still uncertain.
