Cameron Johnson, forward for the Brooklyn Nets, has drawn significant trade interest from several playoff-contending teams this season.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, the Oklahoma City Thunder are now among the top contenders reportedly exploring the possibility of acquiring Johnson.

Fischer mentioned, “I have heard Cam Johnson potentially having interest from OKC.”

In 26 games for the Nets, who currently hold an 11-16 record, the 28-year-old Johnson has been putting up strong numbers. He is averaging 19.2 points per game on an impressive .489/.431/.874 shooting line, along with 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per contest.

His consistent scoring and efficiency have made him a valuable asset for Brooklyn, despite the team’s struggles.

The Thunder, boasting a 22-5 record, currently sit at the top of the competitive Western Conference. Led by All-NBA point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City has quickly become a dominant force, excelling at both ends of the floor.

However, their recent loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Cup championship highlighted some potential weaknesses in their playoff readiness, particularly in dealing with powerful forwards.

Acquiring Johnson, with his ability to stretch the floor and contribute defensively, could help address that vulnerability and further solidify Oklahoma City’s championship aspirations.
