Norman Powell, a key player for the Los Angeles Clippers, has emerged as a potential All-Star and Most Improved Player candidate in his 10th NBA season.

He’s been sensational, averaging 23.9 points per game while shooting an impressive 50.7% from beyond the arc. His stellar performances have helped keep the Clippers firmly in playoff contention in the Western Conference.

The player recently opened up in an interview with HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, discussing his rise to prominence, his championship experience, and the personal challenges he’s faced.

Reflecting on his journey, Powell shared, “I thought about quitting basketball a few times. I don’t think people really get to hear the dark moments that you go through.

“I’ve talked about being at the forefront of mental health, and guys like Kevin Love and DeMar DeRozan talk about how important it is. People don’t really get to see that side of things.”

Powell’s openness highlights the struggles many athletes face behind the scenes, with mental health being a significant factor in their lives.
