After facing some inconsistency in recent games, the Sacramento Kings bounced back with a dominant performance, scoring a season-high 140 points on Friday.

Keon Ellis, who had seen limited playing time recently, was reinserted into the rotation after being inactive on Tuesday and playing only two minutes on Thursday.

In his return, the player made an immediate impact, contributing four steals, three points, and three assists.

Kings head coach Mike Brown provided some insight into Ellis’ fluctuating minutes, as reported by Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee.

Brown explained that due to the increased minutes for other players like Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter, Isaac Jones, and Jae Crowder, Ellis’ playing time had been limited.

“Starting Malik, he’s going to command more minutes,” Brown said. “We’re trying to play Kevin more. We’re trying to be a little bigger with Isaac and Jae. So there hasn’t been a ton of minutes.

“Now, I can take minutes away from one of those guys to try to get him out on the floor. But it’s just, right now, it’s a minutes thing, based on who I’m playing.”
