Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant made his much-anticipated return to the court on Monday, marking his first appearance since November 6.
However, his comeback was short-lived as he has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to a left knee contusion, reports Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal.
Despite the injury, Morant remained optimistic and downplayed its severity in his postgame comments on Monday.
“A little knee to knee. Everybody knows I get back up every time,” he said. “Quick little stinger, get out the way and just take care of it now.”
The Grizzlies will likely approach Morant’s recovery with caution to ensure the injury doesn’t worsen as they navigate a challenging season.
