The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 117-111 on Wednesday night, overcoming a dominant 35-point performance by Joel Embiid. Memphis set a season-high with 19 three-pointers to secure the win.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led the Grizzlies with 25 points, while Desmond Bane contributed 21 points and 10 rebounds.

The Sixers, who dropped their fifth consecutive game, relied heavily on Embiid, who also grabbed 11 rebounds. Rookie Jared McCain added 20 points, and Guerschon Yabusele chipped in with 17 points off the bench.

Memphis controlled much of the game, taking a double-digit lead in the second quarter thanks to eight three-pointers in the period.

Desmond Bane, who had struggled from beyond the arc in recent games, hit four triples in the first half to help extend the Grizzlies’ lead.

Philadelphia started all three of its key players—Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George—for the first time this season.

However, George left in the second half with a hyperextended left knee and finished with just two points. Maxey also struggled, scoring eight points on 3-of-13 shooting.

A late rally by the Sixers cut Memphis’ 15-point fourth-quarter lead to single digits with under a minute to play. Despite the push, the Grizzlies held on for the victory, aided by clutch free throws from Jackson and Bane.

Memphis showcased its depth, with Jaylen Wells scoring 14 points and Jake LaRavia adding 11 off the bench. Luke Kennard also contributed 12 points, hitting three three-pointers.

The Sixers struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on only 11 of their 33 attempts. In contrast, Memphis shot 44.2% from three-point range, with key makes in critical moments.

The win highlights the Grizzlies’ resurgence from early shooting struggles, as they improved to 9-7 on the season. Philadelphia, now 2-12, continues to face challenges despite Embiid’s consistent production.
