Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 109-99 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. Williams scored 30 points, while Gilgeous-Alexander added 28, including 14 made free throws without a miss.

Isaiah Hartenstein made an immediate impact in his season debut, contributing a double-double with 13 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks in 29 minutes.

The Thunder, now 12-4, snapped a two-game losing streak by dominating the paint and capitalizing on turnovers.

Portland struggled with ball control, committing 24 turnovers that led to 28 Thunder points. Shaedon Sharpe paced the Trail Blazers with 21 points, while Toumani Camara and Jerami Grant added 14 each.

Despite a close contest through three quarters, Oklahoma City’s 39-30 fourth-quarter surge sealed the win.

Hartenstein’s return bolstered Oklahoma City’s frontcourt, which had been weakened by injuries, including the extended absence of Chet Holmgren. The Thunder narrowly lost the rebounding battle 49-46 but showed significant improvement compared to recent games.

Alex Caruso provided a spark off the bench for Oklahoma City, scoring 17 points and contributing to the team’s 44 bench points. Portland’s reserves managed 31 points but could not match the Thunder’s depth.

Portland’s Jerami Grant and Toumani Camara combined for five three-pointers, but the team struggled to maintain consistency, shooting 40.5% from the field.

Donovan Clingan contributed 10 points and nine rebounds, but Portland lacked the firepower to keep pace late in the game.

The Thunder dominated inside, outscoring the Trail Blazers 56-32 in the paint. While the Thunder’s three-point shooting was subpar at 29%, their aggression inside and near-perfect free-throw shooting (87%) compensated for the long-range struggles.

This win keeps Oklahoma City near the top of the Western Conference standings. For Portland, now 6-9, the loss marks another missed opportunity to secure a key victory against a conference rival.
