ESPN will feature a unique Mickey Mouse-themed alternate broadcast on Christmas Day when the New York Knicks take on the San Antonio Spurs.

This creative presentation will use Sony’s “Beyond Sports Technology” to reimagine the on-court action, showcasing stars like Victor Wembanyama and Jalen Brunson playing on Magic Kingdom’s iconic “Main Street USA.”

Beloved Disney characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, and Chip and Dale, will enhance the experience by cheering on the players, delivering imaginative pre-game and halftime speeches, and interacting with the action.

The broadcast team will include Drew Carter, Monica McNutt, and sideline reporter Daffy Duck, blending traditional sports coverage with playful Disney charm.

This isn’t the first time ESPN and the NBA have experimented with alternate broadcasts. In 2021, the two teamed up with Disney’s Marvel characters for a similar alt-cast, continuing the trend of merging sports with popular entertainment to engage fans in new and exciting ways.
