Isaiah Hartenstein’s injury designation has been upgraded to questionable, marking a potential return for the first time this season.

The center has been sidelined since breaking his hand during the Thunder’s final preseason matchup, an injury that delayed his debut with the team and left Oklahoma City short on options in the frontcourt.

The Thunder are also without star rookie Chet Holmgren, who has been dealing with his own health issues.

This double blow has tested the team’s depth at the center position, forcing head coach Mark Daigneault to lean heavily on other big men in the rotation and experiment with smaller lineups to compensate.

Hartenstein, a key offseason acquisition for the Thunder, joined the team after signing a lucrative three-year, $87 million contract following a successful stint with the New York Knicks.

Known for his versatility and defensive presence, Hartenstein was expected to play a critical role in anchoring the Thunder’s interior defense and providing a reliable offensive option in the paint.

His potential return could offer a much-needed boost for a team aiming to stay competitive in the Western Conference despite their injury challenges.
