LeBron James considered Cavaliers return before joining 76ers

Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James revealed that he seriously considered returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a third stint before ultimately deciding to sign with Philadelphia during the offseason.

James discussed his free agency decision following the Sixers’ remarkable comeback victory over Cleveland, in which Philadelphia erased a 29-point deficit to secure the win.

Speaking after the game, the four-time NBA champion acknowledged that the Cavaliers were among the teams he considered as he evaluated the next chapter of his career.

“The nature of the meeting, I probably won’t discuss much,” James said. “But it was in consideration for sure. I mean, obviously, as a team trying to build towards a championship and things of that nature, I was trying to decide where I wanted to go with the rest of my career, to finish my career, or the next step. So, they had a lot of consideration for sure.”
