The Oklahoma City Thunder have officially waived forward/center Malevy Leons. The decision to release Leons comes shortly after he participated in the team’s NBA Cup victory against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

Leons joined the Thunder on October 31, following the team’s decision to waive Alex Reese. During his brief stint with Oklahoma City, Leons appeared in six games, logging a total of 21 minutes on the court. While his time with the team was limited, he contributed as a depth option during his tenure.

With Leons’ departure, the Thunder now have 14 players on standard contracts, leaving them with one available standard roster spot. This opens the door for Oklahoma City to potentially sign or acquire another player to fill the vacancy and further strengthen their roster for the remainder of the season.
