The Oklahoma City Thunder have decided to waive forward/center Alex Reese, who was signed on October 19.
Reese appeared in one preseason game for the Thunder, but with limited playing time, he was unable to secure a long-term spot on the roster.
A versatile big man, Reese has spent time developing his skills since his college days at Alabama, where he showcased his shooting ability and floor spacing as a stretch forward.
Known for his size and three-point shooting potential, he was brought in by the Thunder to add depth to their frontcourt.
However, with the addition of Malevy Leons, who impressed in preseason play, the team chose to make room for players who better fit their evolving roster needs.
Reese’s release signals the Thunder’s emphasis on finding versatile, defense-oriented players to support their rebuilding efforts.
Reese now enters free agency, where he will seek new opportunities to bring his skills to another team looking for size and shooting ability in its frontcourt rotation.
