The Philadelphia 76ers are parting ways with two-way forward Alex Reese, according to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. League sources confirmed the move Tuesday, ending Reese’s tenure in Philadelphia after less than five months.

Reese, 26, signed a two-way contract with the 76ers on February 20, 2025. He appeared in 14 NBA games this past season, averaging 5.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 15.3 minutes per contest while shooting 47.2% from the field and 36.6% from beyond the arc.

The former Alabama standout also spent time in the G League, splitting the 2024–25 campaign between the Delaware Blue Coats and the Rip City Remix. In 31 G League appearances, he averaged 16.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals while shooting 45.1% from the field and 39.3% from three-point range.

Reese’s journey this season included multiple roster moves. After playing for the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2024 Summer League, he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder in September but was waived before the season opener. He returned briefly to the Rip City Remix before landing his opportunity with Philadelphia.

With the 76ers, Reese carved out a role as a stretch forward off the bench. His best performance came against Detroit on March 17, when he recorded 12 points, five rebounds, and two blocks.
