The Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a deal with forward Alex Reese, agent Billy Davis confirmed to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Reese averaged 5.3 points on 47% shooting and 37% from three-point range in 14 games with the Philadelphia 76ers last season.
According to Sean Highkin, both Reese and Blake Hinson are expected to be signed-and-waive by Portland.
Reese, 26, also appeared in one game for the Oklahoma City Thunder and spent time in the G League, where he posted 16.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game with the Rip City Remix and Delaware Blue Coats.
The signing comes as the Trail Blazers aim to complement their young core of Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe. Reese’s ability to space the floor could provide additional offensive options alongside veteran guard Jrue Holiday.
Reese’s 2024–25 NBA campaign included a two-way contract with Philadelphia that began in February. He played 15.3 minutes per game and recorded 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 blocks, highlighting his defensive potential and athleticism at the wing position.
Portland’s roster also features key rotation players Jerami Grant, Kris Murray, and Deni Avdija.
Reese’s journey to Portland has included multiple moves this year. After playing in the 2024 Summer League with the Trail Blazers, he signed briefly with Oklahoma City, then joined the 76ers, and also saw extensive G League action.
