Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse provided an update on the progress of star players Joel Embiid and Paul George as they work towards returning to action.
Nurse indicated that both players are advancing in their ramp-up processes; however, he confirmed that neither will be available to play this weekend.
George was officially ruled out for the weekend on Thursday, following an earlier announcement that Embiid would also be sidelined.
The Sixers have a challenging weekend ahead, with a matchup against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, followed by a game against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday afternoon.
The team is eager for updates on Embiid and George’s conditions, with more information expected early next week.
As for the upcoming week, Philadelphia has a relatively light schedule. They will host two home games, the first on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons, followed by another on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
There is growing speculation that the game against the Pistons could serve as the season debut for both Embiid and George.
This possibility has generated considerable excitement among fans and the organization, as both players are crucial to the team’s success and playoff aspirations.
Their return could significantly enhance the team’s performance and overall dynamics as they look to build momentum in the early stages of the season.
