Quincy Olivari, who is currently participating in training camp on an Exhibit 10 deal, made a notable impact on his teammates and coaches during Thursday night’s game, as reported by Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times.

The rookie guard, hailing from Xavier University, showcased his skills in the fourth quarter, where he scored 11 points, grabbed five rebounds, and provided two assists.

His performance was pivotal in igniting a remarkable 20-0 run for the team, demonstrating his ability to contribute in crucial moments.

Despite facing the challenge of competing for a spot on a roster that currently has no vacancies, Olivari expressed that deciding to join the Lakers was a “fairly easy decision.”

He was particularly drawn to the organization after being recruited by Nick Mazzella, the general manager of the Lakers’ South Bay affiliate in the G League, shortly after going undrafted.

This connection provided him with a sense of belonging and purpose within the Lakers’ system, making the opportunity even more appealing. Olivari’s determination to seize this chance speaks volumes about his commitment to making a mark on the team.

Lakers head coach J.J. Redick expressed his enthusiasm for Olivari’s attitude and work ethic.

“He takes the game very seriously,” Redick said. “He’s a player who, when I talk about the care factor, he’s someone who really cares about doing things the right way and wants to execute whatever vision is given to him.

“I’m genuinely excited that he’s part of our program. As a coaching staff, we hold him in very high regard.”
