The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly finalizing a deal to sign Trey Jemison to a Two-Way contract, according to sources familiar with the situation.
This move comes shortly after the team waived Quincy Olivari from his Two-Way deal earlier on Wednesday, signaling a shift in their developmental strategy.
Jemison, represented by agent Derrick Powell, brings experience from his time with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he appeared in 16 games this season.
In those outings, the 7-foot center averaged 2.4 points and 2.8 rebounds over 10.4 minutes per game. While his contributions have been modest, the Lakers appear to be interested in his potential to add depth and size to their roster.
The Two-Way contract allows Jemison to split time between the Lakers and their G League affiliate, allowing him to further develop his skills while providing the NBA team with additional flexibility.
As the Lakers continue to evaluate their roster and explore options to bolster their lineup, Jemison’s signing suggests they are prioritizing young talent with room for growth.
