Quincy Olivari is actively pursuing a full-time NBA opportunity following a productive season with South Bay and a confirmed return to Summer League play.
The former Rice and Xavier standout, who went undrafted in 2024, initially joined the Los Angeles Lakers last summer and earned a two-way contract after an impressive preseason. Though he appeared in just two NBA games, Olivari made his mark in the G League, averaging 17.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists across 40 contests.
As reported by Robert Marvi of LeBron Wire, Olivari is among the Lakers’ second-year players expected to compete in the upcoming Summer League. In an interview with Lakers Nation, the 24-year-old confirmed his participation and outlined his offseason approach.
“I will definitely be in Summer League,” Olivari said. “Talking with my agent, still kind of working through our options, analyzing different situations.”
After being waived by the Lakers in January, Olivari remained with their G League affiliate.
In addition to his on-court production, Olivari participated in multiple free agent minicamps and workouts during the offseason. He indicated that the feedback received has been encouraging and has contributed to his confidence heading into July.
“Obviously I love the Lakers franchise but I gotta figure out what’s best for me,” he added. “I’ve gone to some teams and got some great feedback, which is also giving me a lot of confidence about what I’ve been doing this summer has been working.”
Olivari’s profile as a 6-foot-3 guard who can space the floor and create off the dribble fits the mold of modern NBA backcourt depth. He connected on 35.4% of his three-point attempts on high volume with South Bay, while also showing growth as a facilitator.
