Quincy Olivari, the 23-year-old guard recently cut by the Los Angeles Lakers, shared his thoughts on his time with the storied franchise. Speaking with NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Olivari expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of one of the most iconic teams in basketball.

Olivari, who spent much of his time as a two-way player with the Lakers and their G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, discussed the invaluable lessons he learned during his brief stint.

“It was great being here, especially being around a storied franchise like the Los Angeles Lakers,” Olivari said. “I loved being in the facility every day around legends because I was able to ask questions and learn.”

The young guard spoke highly of his experience being around LeBron James, noting the profound impact the future Hall of Famer had on him. “More importantly, I enjoyed being around a legend in LeBron James and seeing how he approaches the game even in preseason games which is remarkable,” Olivari remarked. “He’s a guy that shows up every day and he’s literally the blueprint for how a player should approach the game.”

Olivari, who appeared in two games for the Lakers, also expressed appreciation for the environment at the team’s facility. For him, the chance to be immersed in a championship culture was a unique opportunity. “The formula and recipe was right in front of me. I’m going to miss the games and the energy from the fans at South Bay games too,” Olivari said. “The fan’s support and the energy was unmatched.”

While his time with the Lakers was brief, Olivari demonstrated his skills with the South Bay Lakers in the G-League. Over four games, he averaged 15 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 33.5 minutes per game. Olivari’s two games with the Lakers saw him average 1.5 points in 5 minutes per game.
