After missing the entire previous season due to a right knee injury, Phoenix Suns guard Damion Lee is preparing for a gradual return to action.

According to the Arizona Republic‘s Duane Rankin, Lee expects to play a limited role in the early stages of the season.

“I don’t anticipate or expect myself to come out early in the season and play 30 minutes a game,” Lee said. “I know what I do. I know what my role is, and when the time comes for me to go out there and contribute, then I will and I’ll try to do it to the best of my abilities.”

Before his injury, Lee was a solid contributor for the Suns, appearing in 74 games during the 2022/23 season and averaging 8.2 points in 20.4 minutes per game.

His three-point shooting and experience make him a valuable depth piece for Phoenix as they navigate the upcoming season with high expectations.

While his role will be limited early on, Lee’s veteran presence could prove crucial as the Suns manage injuries and rotations throughout the year.
