Scottie Barnes: Of course we wanna win/know we can win, but it takes time

Toronto Raptors star Scottie Barnes emphasized being patient as the team goes through a rebuild during media day on Monday.

John Chidley-Hill: “Masai [Ujiri] was just here an hour ago and he called this a rebuilding year, but obviously, you’re a competitor and you want to win. As this team’s leader, how do you balance the need to develop a young core but also obviously you want to win as much as possible?”

Barnes: “Just taking the time. Don’t get frustrated throughout the season, throughout the ups and downs. Of course we want to win and we know we can win, but of course it just takes time. So just don’t get frustrated throughout that process and just keep trying to focus on our main goal, just trying to get better, and focus on that picture. That’s where it’s all gon’ start for us, and then taking those baby steps and trying to get into those playoffs game-by-game.”
