James described the experience of facing Serbia and France in the knockout rounds as particularly exhilarating. “It felt damn good to play. It felt great to play meaningful basketball,” he explained. He likened the semi-final against Serbia and the gold medal game against France to Game 7s, stating, “That fire and desire was brought back to me that I was like, okay, this is what it was all about.”
He also highlighted the camaraderie developed among the Team USA players. James referred to their collaboration as “The Avengers,” illustrating the sense of unity and purpose that motivated the team. “If you make a mistake, it burns you,” he said, showcasing his enthusiasm for the competitive spirit of the Olympics.
